We are pleased to announce that the members of our team – Arkadiusz Michalak (PhD student at the Department of Pediatrics, Diabetology, Endocrinology and Nephrology) and Aleksandra Ryk (PhD student at the Department of Biostatistics and Translational Medicine) were among the winners of the competition for research grants of the Polish Diabetes Association. Both PhD students were awarded research grants of 125,000 PLN for their projects on the development of type 1 diabetes and its complications: “Investigating C-peptide binding sites in the human organism and its binding partners” (Aleksandra Ryk) and “Little evidence of great crimes: search for epigenetic markers of beta cell destruction in blood and urine” (Arkadiusz Michalak). Research will be carried out in cooperation with the Technical University of Lodz and the University of Chicago Medicine. Congratulations!
