On June 14, 2025, our PhD student, Jędrzej Chrzanowski, MD, received a START scholarship!

The Foundation for Polish Science’s START program is the largest scholarship initiative in Poland dedicated to outstanding young researchers from all fields of science. Its aim is to support the most promising early-career scientists and encourage their continued scientific development.

In this year’s edition of the competition, 725 candidates applied, and scholarships were awarded to 100 individuals. The laureates join a community of over 3,500 scholars who have received START funding over the program’s 33-year history. Additionally, 4 researchers received special distinction for the highest-rated scientific achievements, including Jędrzej Chrzanowski.

Jędrzej Chrzanowski is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Lodz, currently affiliated with the Department of Biostatistics and Translational Medicine. His scientific work focuses on the intersection of diabetology, biostatistics, and systems biology, specifically the molecular mechanisms in metabolic disorders. His PhD project focuses on the persistent epigenetic changes induced by hyperglycemia and how they may affect the long-term outcomes of patients with diabetes.

He is the co-author of numerous publications in pediatric diabetology and molecular biology. In his research, he combines clinical expertise with advanced data analysis methods. He has gained experience through international research internships and interdisciplinary national collaborations.

Congratulations!
