Worldwide collaboration is the foundation of modern scientific research. This is especially true in the field of pediatric diabetes, which is steadily increasing in prevalence across many countries in Europe and around the world.

From September 22 to 27, the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) organized the ISPAD Science School for Physicians in Pittsburgh, a workshop and mentorship initiative that brings together young doctors and researchers in pediatric diabetology.

We are pleased to announce that our PhD student, Jędrzej Chrzanowski, MD, represented our Department at this event as the sole participant from Poland. Additionally, he was awarded the prestigious ISPAD-BreakthroughT1D grant worth $25,000 to further his research on the role of epigenetics as a risk marker for long-term complications in type 1 diabetes.

Congratulations!
