We are excited to announce that our PhD student, Jędrzej Chrzanowski, MD, has secured funding in the 2nd edition of the BRaIn internal grants program. His research project, EPIDIABMap – Comprehensive Dynamic Epigenetic Map of Type 1 Diabetes Management, will investigate chromatin accessibility in PBMCs during the first years after diabetes diagnosis using the ATAC-seq method.

We are also thrilled to congratulate our close collaborators, Dr. hab. Agata Pastorczak and Dr. Marcin Braun, whose projects were also selected for funding!

Dr. hab. Agata Pastorczak’s project, DReAMLand – DNA-Repair Associated Malignancy Biomarker Landscape in Children, will explore DNA repair mechanisms in pediatric malignancies, continuing our department’s long-standing collaboration.

Dr. Marcin Braun’s project, SIGNATURE – Signature of the Stroma in FGFR-Mediated Progression in Breast Carcinoma, will focus on the impact of the tumor microenvironment (stroma) on FGFR-dependent breast cancer progression using laser microdissection, aiming to identify patients unresponsive to current therapies and propose targeted FGFR treatments.

We wish all the recipients the best of luck with their exciting research projects!
