We are proud to announce that Dr. Zuzanna Maria Nowicka-Kaszkowiak, a researcher at the Department of Biostatistics and Translational Medicine at the Medical University of Lodz, has been awarded the prestigious L’Oréal-UNESCO “For Women in Science” fellowship in the doctoral category.
Dr. Nowicka-Kaszkowiak conducts research on immunological alterations occurring within the tumor microenvironment under the influence of cytotoxic agents in non-small cell lung cancer. Her work focuses on understanding how chemotherapy and radiotherapy shape the immune response and affect the recognition of cancer cells. She is also involved in projects concerning rectal cancer and broader aspects of translational oncology and medicine. As a graduate of the Individual Course of Studies at the Department and a recipient of scholarships from the Rector of the Medical University of Lodz, the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship, the Ministry of Health, and the Foundation for Polish Science (START Programme), she has consistently built a strong scientific profile.
