We are pleased to invite Biostatisticians, Data Scientists or Data Engineers with at least a doctoral degree awarded outside Poland to join our team for 6 to 24 months. During their stay at the Department of Biostatistics and Translational Medicine, scientists will take part in our research, prepare scientific publications, cooperate in writing grant proposals and teach at the Medical University of Lodz. Our team focuses on harnessing the capabilities of advanced statistics and data mining tools to solve complex biological problems with clinical implications in radiation oncology, diabetes and cancer diagnostics.

Scientists visiting our institution under the Ulam Programme run by Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange will receive a monthly Scholarship for the duration of their stay in an amount of approximately 2400 EUR a month and a mobility allowance, which will allow them to cover the travel costs.

(Funds are available for Fellows to start between 1st January 2021 and 1st September 2021)

The Ulam programme commemorates a brilliant Polish mathematician – Stanislaw Ulam, a co-author of the Scottish Book and a member of Lviv School of Mathematicics, who went to the USA just before the breakout of the Second World War, where he joined the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton and then became an associate professor at several American universities.
