The key to successful research is cooperation – between disciplines, centres, and countries. This cooperation is even more important for research in pediatric and adolescent diabetes, with the disease prevalence steadily increasing in many countries throughout Europe and the World. On the 22nd-26th of May, the 21st ISPAD Science School for Physicians was held in Prague. The event is organized jointly by the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDRF). During this event, young medical doctors and researchers in pediatric diabetology get the chance to learn the best research practices and network with the international group. We are pleased to announce that Arkadiusz Michalak MD (PhD student at the Department of Pediatrics, Diabetology, Endocrinology and Nephrology, researcher at the Department of Biostatistics and Translational Medicine, and medical technologies expert at the Clinical Trials Center at the Medical University of Lodz) was representing our University during this event as one of the two Polish-based researchers.
